Hibbert back to school?

Georgetown center Roy Hibbert could take his name out of the NBA Draft and return to the Hoyas for his senior season, a source told the Washington Post in today’s edition. The 7-foot-2 Hibbert was expected to be one of the top 10 picks in the 2007 NBA Draft.

Hibbert and teammate Jeff Green are expected to announce whether they will remain in the draft at a news conference this afternoon. Both players left open the possibility of returning to school by not hiring an agent.

Hibbert averaged 12.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game last season. Green was the Big East player of the year, and last month told the Post there was a 70 percent chance he would return to the Hoyas.

“School is only going to be here four years,” Green told the Post. “The NBA will be there forever. You can’t just give up that. That’s a big thought in this process.”
