Welcome to the Garden, where the Boston Celtics (24-57) will take on the Detroit Pistons (52-29) at 7:30 p.m.

This is it. Boston’s season will come to an end tonight against the best team in the Eastern Conference. Neither team can gain anything from a win tonight, but it’s a safe bet the Celtics would like to build toward next year by finishing out the season with consecutive wins over Miami and Detroit.

The Celtics will show a highlight reel sometime during tonight’s game. It’s heavy on Gerald Green and a few other spectacular dunks. Not too many shots of final box scores.

  • The Celtics dancers took more than a few team photos before heading out to center court to warm up. The dancers are not guaranteed a spot on next year’s team.
  • Members of the band ‘Augustana’, who will be performing a postgame concert, stood on the parquet and watched players warm up before tonight’s game. One of the band members (forgive me for not knowing his name) asked Ryan Gomes if he could post up on him. Gomes obliged, and the boot-wearing rock star slipped and fell to the ground as he tried backing down Gomes. He blamed the boots.
