Perk’s take

After solid defensive performances against Chris Bosh Monday and Dwight Howard Wednesday, Kendrick Perkins was asked if he thinks he can defend any big man in the league.

“That’s my job,” said Perkins. “That’s what Doc always tells me to do. He says when I concentrate and worry about defense and setting picks and doing my role, then the game comes to me and I’m a far better player.”

  • Perkins hit Paul Pierce in the post with a lob pass from the top of the key in the first half. The play is identical to the one Pierce and Antoine Walker used to connect on, only Perkins is the seven-foot center making the entry pass.

“It’s something that comes out of our offense,” said Perkins. “If Paul has a mismatch I’m going to give it to him. With a point guard on him I have to give it to him. It’s just part of reading the game.”
