The Orlando Magic have closed to within three here with one quarter to play.

Kendrick Perkins completed a high-low pass to Paul Pierce for a layup with 1:18 left in the third quarter. The play was identical to the one Pierce and Antoine Walker used to do so well. Doc Rivers has often said Perkins is one of the best passers on the team.

  • Al Jefferson is showcasing his complete arsenal of offensive moves tonight. Jefferson hit a turnaround jumper while drawing a foul on Tony Battie with 7:15 left in the third. Jefferson completed the three-point play.
  • Dwight Howard has made just 3-of-10 foul shots.
  • Delonte West hit an acrobatic shot while getting fouled by Jameer Nelson with 2:10 left in the quarter.

    Delonte West: 6-11, 15 points, two assists, two rebounds
    Jameer Nelson: 3-9, seven points, three assists
