The Celtics have opened up a double-digit lead at halftime thanks to solid play from Kendrick Perkins, Rajon Rondo, and Ryan Gomes.
Perkins has been a beast inside for the Celtics in the first half. Perkins has five points, six rebounds, and two assists going up against All-Star Dwight Howard. Howard has seven points and four rebounds for the Magic.
Howard picked up a technical foul at the 11:25 mark for throwing Gerald Green to the floor after Green gave a hard foul. There doesn’t appear to be any more bad blood between the two Slam Dunk contest contestants.
Sebastian Telfair played eight minutes in the first half and had two points and one assist. He picked up a technical foul with 10:07 left in the second quarter.
Rondo pressured the Magic full court and stole the ball before quickly getting it to Delonte West with 5:14 left in the half. West drained a jumper, and Ryan Gomes hit one on the next possession to give the Celtics a 36-29 lead. Rondo has four points, three assists, and two rebounds in the first half.
Danny Ainge is back from scouting and in the building tonight for the Celtics.
