Rivers stays away
It started with a Georgetown question. Then reporters got to the good stuff.
“How does Roy Hibbert match up against Greg Oden?” a reporter asked Doc Rivers before tonight’s game.
Rivers wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole.
“I don’t even know if I can answer that,” he said. “Hopefully very well. Privately I’ve had some great things to say about that, but I can’t say them. Sorry.”
“Will you sit next to Greg Oden’s mother at the game,” another reporter queried.
“I’m not going to sit near Danny (Ainge), I know that,” said Rivers. “I’m going to sit next to Patrick Ewing Jr.’s dad. I think that’s legal. I’m just going as a parent to have fun and watch the game.”
Rivers was asked what he do if he saw Oden’s parents.
“I’m going to boo,” said Rivers.
“Parent, easy,” said River. “As a coach you can have an impact. You can call a timeout. You can do something. As a parent you can just sit there with all the other guys you’re sitting next to. You basically just watch and pray a lot.”
