News and notes from the Celtics’ first half against the Pacers:

  • Ryan Gomes had a sneaky-quiet eight points and 10 rebounds in the first half. Gomes showed he can fill up the stat sheet with his triple-double against the Bobcats, but he’s put up great numbers tonight while flying under the radar. Wally Szczerbiak’s 3-13 shooting peformance, on the other hand, was very loud.
  • Former guard Celtic Orien Greene did not see the court in the first half. It goes as a DNP-coach’s decision.
  • The loudest cheers of the first half came first for Leon Powe’s entrance into the game and second for the Celtics Dancers.
  • Only one inactive Celtics player sat on the bench during the first half. Allan Ray, who has not played all season, wore a suit and sat next to Brian Scalabrine. Al Jefferson was in the building earlier in the night but was not on the bench. Jefferson said before the game he had been cleared to start working on conditioning tonight. Theo Ratliff, nursing a bad back, was not in the building.
  • For the Celtics, Tony Allen recorded a noticeable DNP-coach’s decision. Allen did not play last game.
