Dont’a Hightower, Joe Kelly, Meghan Duggan among those at Bruins-Maple Leafs Game 2
Among the sellout crowd at TD Garden for the Bruins’ Game 2 win over the Maple Leafs were a few familiar faces for New England sports fans. And the group was treated to a dominant 7-3 win, as Boston took a 2-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Playoff series against Toronto.
To get things going before the puck dropped, the USA women’s hockey gold medalist Meghan Duggan (a Massachusetts native) waved the fan banner:
What an honor. Thank you, Boston. And another big win for the B’s! #WeWantTheCup https://t.co/N0yCwQBSwz

Also on hand were a couple of Red Sox relief pitchers. Joe Kelly drew a standing ovation from the crowd after his recent fight with Yankees designated hitter Tyler Austin was shown on screen:
Let’s go Bruins!! Pumped to attend my first hockey game at the garden with @JosephKellyJr @mattbarnesRHP and @HeathHembree

Another athlete who received loud applause was Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower. The defensive star was impressed with the Bruins’ offense:
4 shots 3 goals damn them boys rolling tonight! #gobruins

Also in attendance was former Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference, as well as Red Sox front office personnel Dave Dombrowski and Tony La Russa.
