This totally renovated home sits on a sloping lot overlooking the Merrimack River, beloved by kayakers, powerboaters, fishing enthusiasts, and an extensive array of aquatic and avian life.
The 0.7-acre-square-foot lot includes 225 feet of riverfront with a private pebble beach in Merrimac, a town included in Globe Magazine’s 2025 top spots to live north of Boston.
From River Road, one pulls directly into the driveway located in front of the single-bay garage that has been reinforced structurally and sided with white vinyl, matching the bungalow-style home.

It’s helpful to explain how to enter this home since it’s most definitely not a cookie-cutter approach.
Moving past the garage and using a fieldstone walkway alongside the right side of the house is a door that opens to the kitchen. A second access point is on the left side of the house, and that opens into a hallway on the second level. A third and final door is in the back, opening to a porch with stairs leading to the rear yard.

The 105-square-foot kitchen has navy blue cabinets and white countertops. The sink is below a small window, and the appliances, including the electric range, are stainless steel. There is a pass-through to the dining area.
The kitchen is part of the first-level open floor plan along with the dining and living areas, which are located on the waterfront side of the house. Flooring throughout this level is luxury vinyl plank with the appearance of sun-weathered wood.

The dining and living areas are dominated by banks of windows that provide scenic river views. The dining area is even more brightly lit thanks to its corner location and a second bank of three windows. The living area has a brick fireplace painted white.
Off the living room is a 41-square-foot space that could be made into an office or a playroom.

A half bath with a wooden herringbone single vanity design doubles as the laundry room with space for full-size appliances.
The interior stairwell to the second level is off the living room. It shares the second-floor hallway with the exterior doorway. The primary suite (153 square feet) and the two secondary bedrooms (126 and 135 square feet) line up next to each other overlooking the backyard and the river. All three are painted a calm shade of blue. The flooring in the hallway and bedrooms is the same as on the first floor.

The secondary bathroom has a single gray vanity topped by a white sink and gray ceramic flooring tile. The shower/bath combination, behind a curtain, has a white subway tile backsplash with gray tile accents.
The primary suite occupies its own corner of the home. The bedroom features three double-hung windows, recessed lighting, and two closets — one in each corner of the room. The primary bathroom has ceramic tile flooring, a single vanity with a herringbone design, and a light gray sink. It has a shower (no tub) behind a curtain with a white subway tile backsplash and riverstone accents.

Heating and cooling is provided through mini-splits installed throughout the home.
The basement is unfinished, and can only be accessed from the yard; it has a low ceiling of less than 6 feet. Storage is available underneath the garage.
No flood insurance is required, according to the listing agent, Paul Chang of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty in Newburyport, who is also the owner.
