One of the pieces the Bruins acquired in the Tyler Seguin trade is no longer with the club.

The Edmonton Oilers announced on Monday that they had claimed forward Matt Fraser, whom the Bruins had put on waivers on Sunday after recalling Jordan Caron from Providence.

Fraser came to Boston from Dallas in the deal that sent Seguin and Rich Peverley to the Stars in the summer of 2013, with the Bruins also netting Loui Eriksson, Reilly Smith, and Joe Morrow. He played 44 games with Providence in 2013-14, scoring 20 goals with 10 assists, while also tallying two goals in 14 games in Boston.

Fraser became a brief playoff hero for the Bruins in May, scoring the overtime game-winner in Game 4 of the Montreal series in his first NHL playoff game.

Fraser’s production hasn’t come around this season on a Bruins team that is vastly underachieving. The 24-year-old has three goals and no assists in 24 games with a plus/minus rating of -5. He’s suited up for 51 games in his NHL career, scoring six goals with two assists.
