British comic accuses ‘Jurassic World’ of racism, wins at word bingo
If you’ve ever watched any of the Jurassic Park installments and walked out having a good laugh about racial tensions, it looks like you’re not alone.
British YouTube personality and comedian Guzzy Bear Oh Yeh! noticed quite the faux pas in the newest installment, Jurassic World, starring Chris Pratt, and he thought it was “Unbelievable, it’s broken my childhood memories!’’

From the video above, Guzzy Bear’s got a problem with the names used for some of the dinosaurs. The Pakisaurus is an actual type of dinosaur, found in Pakistan, whose name bears an unfortunate resemblance to a racial slur for Pakistanis. In the movie, however, when the “semi-nice looking ginger’’ girl proclaims that “the pachys are out of containment,’’ they’re referring to a fictitious species, the dome-headed Pachycephalosaurus.
It’s a nickname that sounds just like a painful word used in real life.
Guzzy didn’t know there had ever been such thing as a Pakisaurus, so he was probably more than a little embarrassed when he loudly proclaimed that there was no such thing, only to be told by another moviegoer “’I’ve just Googled it, have a look.’ And he’s not even lying!’’
He could have argued about it, or even gotten upset. Sometimes, it’s easier to laugh.
