Camden Yards Goes On Brief Lockdown During Sox/Orioles Game
As the Red Sox and Orioles played their 10-inning game at Camden Yards on Saturday night, thousands of protestors gathered in downtown Baltimore and around the ballpark in reaction to the death of Freddie Gray, a Baltimore man who died while in police custody earlier this week.
With helicopters circling the ballpark overhead and the protests ongoing outside, an announcement popped up on the Jumbotron near the end of the game from the mayor of Baltimore City and the Baltimore City Police Department.

During the bottom of the 10th inning, Baltimore Sun baseball writer Dan Connolly updated the situation, tweeting that fans were being allowed to leave the ballpark, but only in certain specific areas.

Not long after Orioles outfielder David Lough ended the game with a walkoff home run off Sox closer Koji Uehara, both Connolly and the Sun’s O’s beat writer Eduardo Encina said that fans had been given the green light to exit the ballpark and the gates were opened.
