Watch Arnold Arboretum Experience Decades of Growth With One Mouse Swipe

Much of Boston looks the same right now, which is to say white and snowy. But, local photographer Brigid Shaw’s photo project shows that even though Boston has always experienced white and snowy winters, the city’s natural landscape has notably changed over the years.

Shaw, who spent several years traveling around the United States while working for the National Park Service, combined historic photos from Harvard University’s photo archive with her own original shots. The result is “then and now’’ photos that show how the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain has grown over time.
