Local obituary: Ava LoDico, 18, Falmouth High senior set to study nursing at UMass Dartmouth

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ava Marie LoDico on 5/17/2025. She was 18 years old. A native of Falmouth, she was born April 12, 2007.

Ava was a senior at Falmouth High School. She was planning to attend UMass Dartmouth this fall, enrolled in the nursing program. She volunteered for Falmouth Road Race and the Ryan Hendricks I Got You foundation.

Ava had a love for the beach, watching sunsets with friends, dancing and attending concerts. She lived her life to the fullest and was the life of the party.

Ava was generous, compassionate and kind. Inclusive of all those around her. She made everyone laugh with her great sense of humor and quick-witted comebacks. Her smile was radiant and she could light up a room.

Ava is predeased by her grandmother Susan LoDico.

Survived by parents Brandi Santos (Malik Staten) and Joseph LoDico (Suzanne Hendricks) of Falmouth; brother Jayce Staten; grandparents Joseph LoDico II, Debra Santos and Ernest Santos of Falmouth; aunts Angela LoDico and Kristin Hinson of Falmouth; uncles Nick LoDico, Henry LoDico and Brandon Santos of Falmouth; cousins Mila Santos, DJ Scott, Eric Gonsalves, McKenna LoDico and Nolan LoDico of Falmouth. She also leaves behind many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 27th from 3-7 p.m. at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, May 28th at 1 p.m. at Cape Cod Church, 1205 Nathan Ellis Highway, East Falmouth. Burial to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 167 East Falmouth Highway, East Falmouth.
