Police report the suspect previously threatened violence against the resident of the home she allegedly broke into.

A Roxbury Crossing woman is facing several charges after allegedly breaking into two commercial buildings and a residence in Canton, authorities said.

Officers received a report of a break-in at a Washington Street residence on Friday around 11:30 a.m., according to a statement from the Canton Police Department

Police reported finding 31-year-old Jailah Latrea Bates-Harrison, who they said entered the residence without permission by picking the lock. Authorities also said that she had previously threatened the resident with violence.

Officers determined Bates-Harrison was also wanted in connection with two break-ins that occurred early Thursday morning. According to the police department, these included a break-in at the office building for a town-owned cemetery at 1600 Washington St. and another at a restaurant located at 515 Washington St.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.

“Officers responded quickly and conducted a thorough on-scene investigation that allowed us to identify the suspect and connect the incidents,” Police Chief Michaels Daniels said in the statement. “I want to recognize the officers involved for their attention to detail and their work to resolve these cases.”
