An 83-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on collision while driving on a Newton road, the local DA said.
The man was driving eastbound on Beacon Street when his car veered into traffic, colliding with another vehicle head on, the office of the Middlesex District Attorney said in a press release.
The man was brought to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the DA said.
The 83-year-old was the only occupant of his vehicle, the DA wrote.
The two passengers in the struck car did not suffer from “any life-threatening injuries,” investigators said.
The incident is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office along with local and State Police, the DA wrote.
