Crowds gathered in Lexington Friday night as the town kicked off Patriots’ Day weekend with a reenactment of Paul Revere’s historic midnight ride.
The event, held at the Hancock-Clarke House, recreated Revere’s arrival in Lexington to warn Patriot leaders John Hancock and Samuel Adams of the approaching British troops. Organized in partnership with Lexington History Museums, the Lexington Minute Men bring the ride to life each year for locals and history buffs alike.
Spectators lined Hancock Street ahead of the 9 p.m. ride, with many sharing photos and videos on social media and expressing pride in the iconic historic event.

Old North Church captured a riveting video of the ride, which was shared on Twitter.
