Police ID man whose body was found in car towed to Allston lot

Authorities believe the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of T.J. Maxx on Harvard Avenue in Brookline on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m.

Authorities have identified the man who was found dead inside a car last week as a 32-year-old Boston resident.

Devonte Mcfall, who was last known to have an address in Roxbury, was found dead in a car he had rented, according to Paul Campbell, a Brookline police deputy superintendent.

More on the incident:

Authorities believe the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of T.J. Maxx on Harvard Avenue in Brookline on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. A tow truck then reportedly removed the vehicle from the parking lot on Thursday shortly before 11:30 p.m., and the body was noticed the next morning inside the car at a towing lot in Allston.

Campbell could not provide a cause of death at this time, but said “preliminarily there was nothing overtly suspicious reported by investigators on the scene.”

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. An investigation remains ongoing.
