Man charged in accidental shooting at Ipswich brewery

The man, identified as Donald Terenzoni, was carrying an unlicensed firearm when it accidentally discharged inside of True North Ale, police said.

A man from Newton, New Hampshire is being charged by Ipswich police a week after accidentally discharging his gun in a brewery, injuring himself and two patrons.

The man, identified by police as 35-year-old Donald Terenzoni, was at True North Ale brewery on March 29 when the shooting occurred. Police were called to the scene around 5:17 p.m. to find multiple injured patrons.

Terenzoni had a self-inflicted wound and was taken to the hospital, police said. Additionally, police noted a juvenile who was struck by shrapnel and transported. Another individual was also injured by shrapnel but declined medical transport.

Upon investigation, police say they discovered that Terenzoni was not licensed to carry a firearm in the state of Massachusetts.

He now has multiple charges against him related to carrying a loaded firearm and ammunition without a license, plus assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Ipswich Police said.

Terenzoni was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, April 5 in Ipswich District Court.
