Gun accidentally fired at Ipswich brewery, injures 3
A concealed handgun was accidentally fired at True North Ale brewery Friday, sending two the hospital.
Multiple people were injured after a gun was accidentally fired in an Ipswich brewery Friday, police said.
Ipswich police responded to True North Ale Company a little after 5 p.m. when a man accidentally shot himself with a gun he was carrying. Police said the incident took place in the dining area, and two other people, including a juvenile, were injured.
The man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound, and the juvenile, who was grazed by a piece of shrapnel, was transported to the hospital as a precaution, police said. Another person hit by shrapnel suffered a minor injury and was not hospitalized.

True North Ale co-founders Jake and Gary Rogers said the customer was carrying a concealed handgun, which was fired at the floor “allegedly due to irresponsible handling.”
The co-founders thanked the first responders and added that there was no “malicious intent” behind the shooting.
“Being a safe place to relax should go without saying,” they said in a statement. “We are licensed gun owners ourselves yet we must insist that a place like our Taproom is not a place for firearms.”
Police said the incident is still under investigation.
