The mother of a young Boston woman who was found murdered in Lowell is speaking out and asking the person responsible to come forward.
Police found Dejah Jenkins-Minus, 22, inside a home on Llewelyn Street around 10:45 a.m. on Friday after a request for a well-being check.
Jenkins-Minus’s body was found inside the home with signs of trauma. An autopsy revealed that she had multiple sharp force injuries; her death was ruled a homicide, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office said.
Authorities said they don’t believe the killing was random, but have yet to reveal whose residence it was or Jenkins-Minus’s connection to it.
“Just come forward,” Jenkins-Minus’s mother LaToya Minus told WBZ. “I’m not angry. I’m more mad that they won’t come forward.”
Minus said she was the one that called for a well-being check, according to the news station.
“I knew something was wrong,” she told WBZ. “I didn’t know what, but I knew something was wrong.”
In her final post to social media, Jenkins-Minus said she was excited to celebrate her baby daughter’s first Thanksgiving, according to The Boston Herald.
Minus just wants the suspect to face the consequences.
“They just need to turn themselves in,” Minus told WBZ. “I’m lost, I’m hurt, I’m numb. I’m angry and I want justice for my baby and my grandbaby.”
