Woman struck by Brockton police cruiser dies, officials say
The 75-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a Boston hospital, according to authorities.

A pedestrian who was struck by a Brockton police officer driving in a marked cruiser to the scene of an emergency Tuesday has died, officials said.
The victim was identified as Maria Graca, 75, of Brockton, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said in a statement Wednesday.
The officer was responding to an emergency call and driving with his cruiser’s emergency system activated when the crash happened around 4:17 p.m. near 706 Main St., the statement said.
“The officer immediately stopped his vehicle, reported the incident, and administered first aid to the female pedestrian,” officials said.
Graca was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital and later transferred to Boston Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, according to the district attorney’s office.
Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash, authorities said.
