Pedestrian reportedly hospitalized after being struck by Brockton police officer in cruiser

A Brockton police officer behind the wheel of a marked cruiser Tuesday afternoon struck a pedestrian while responding to an emergency call.
The crash happened around 4:17 p.m. near 706 Main St., Boston 25 News reports.
Officials said the officer was heading to the scene of an emergency and had the cruiser’s emergency system activated when the collision occurred, according to the news station.
The officer stopped and reported the incident and administered first aid to the victim, the station reports.
The woman was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.
Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident, according to Boston 25 News.
