Human skull found in Blandford woods reportedly belonged to man who went missing 5 years ago

A human skull found in Blandford woods Sunday has been identified as a Marlborough man who went missing five years ago, the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office told WCVB.

Milton Eldredge was 59 when he was reported missing from Blandford on June 21, 2014. Police told the station he lived on Herrick Road and was last seen walking down Route 23, miles from home.
A Blandford resident discovered the skull deep in the woods off Herrick Road on Sunday morning, police said. Those woods are part of the Knittel Conservation Area, which is about 25 miles west of Springfield.
State troopers arrived at the scene around 10:30 a.m. and confirmed the skull appeared human. Search dogs did not find any other remains in the area.
