Cops: Maine man’s death is suspicious, wife unaccounted for

ARUNDEL, Maine (AP) — State police say they’re investigating a suspicious death after an Arundel man was found dead in his home and his wife was nowhere to be found.

A state police spokesman says a family member found the body of 63-year-old Matthew Coito on Wednesday afternoon in the kitchen of Coito’s two-story home.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday at the state medical examiner’s office to determine how he died. Authorities aren’t treating Coito’s death as a homicide.

Coito’s wife, 65-year-old Sue Kim Coito, was unaccounted for on Wednesday evening. Authorities say she has Alzheimer’s disease.

State troopers and York County sheriff’s deputies searched for her in a wooded area behind their home.

Officials say relatives became concerned after not hearing from the couple since last weekend.
