How people are participating in ‘A Day Without a Woman’ in the Boston area
Women across the country Wednesday are donning red, staying home from work, and avoiding shopping online or in person to demonstrate their role in the national economy and society as part of “A Day Without a Woman.”

In the Greater Boston area, it was no different. Signs of solidarity with the event, which coincides with the U.N.-designated International Women’s Day, cropped up in ways ranging from a rally in Harvard Square to new headgear adorning an iconic statue on MIT’s campus.
