These Boston-area restaurants are taking action on ‘A Day Without a Woman’
Wednesday is International Women’s Day, and organizers of the Women’s March in Washington have declared it “A Day Without a Woman.” They’re asking people to take the day off from work (if they can), avoid shopping, and wear red.

“Women and our allies will act together for equity, justice and the human rights of all women and all gender-oppressed people, through a one-day demonstration of economic solidarity,” organizers wrote on a website dedicated to the cause.
As with last month’s A Day Without an Immigrant protest, several Boston-area restaurants are showing their support. Some are closing their doors for the day, others are offering free food to customers in red, and others will honor women by donating to organizations such as Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.
