Police: Woman found with hands and feet duct-taped near Route 18 in Weymouth
Weymouth police are investigating after an 18-year-old woman was found Wednesday evening near a ravine by Route 18 and Route 3.
Police said they received a call from the woman around 8 p.m. asking for help and officers at the scene located her using sirens and calling out to her.
The woman had duct tape on her hands and feet when an officer approached her, according to police. The fire department assisted with removing her from the dense brush, and she was transported to a hospital.
Police said the woman told investigators she was given a ride by a man who then dropped her off in the area where she was found.
“She also spoke to investigators about meeting different males on an online website,” police said.
The woman, who is not a resident of the South Shore, was “very vague” and did fully cooperate with investigators, according to police.
Police said they do not believe it to be a random incident and that there is no imminent threat to the public.
