Route 9 in Newton closed following single vehicle crash into utility pole
Two people were injured Wednesday morning after a single vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Newton.
The crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. in the eastbound lane of Route 9 at Dudley Road, according to state police.

Police said one of the car’s occupants is in serious condition at an area hospital and another was transported for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
The eastbound lanes will be closed until the tilting poles and hanging wires are secured. State police urged drivers to seek an alternate route.
