Cambridge art gallery manager fired following sexual assault accusation

The manager of a popular Cambridge art gallery has been fired after a musician posted on her website that she was “sexually attacked” by him after a show Monday night, reports The Boston Globe.

“He has been fired because this type of behavior is totally unacceptable,” Tim Tipton, the founder of Out of the Blue Too Art Gallery & More in Central Square, told the Globe.

The Globe has not named the manager because he has not been charged with a crime. The musician, who the Globe has not identified because the paper does not name alleged victims of sexual assault, has not filed charges, Jeremy Warnick, spokesman for the Cambridge Police Department, told the Globe.

“He pressed me up against the wall and started . . . kissing me, while saying disgusting things in my ear,” the musician wrote on her site, according to the Globe. “I literally shoved him off of me with all my might and ran to the bathroom where I had a severe panic attack.”

“We are looking to connect with the alleged victim and have made efforts to contact her,” Warnick told the Globe. “We are aware of the blog post and social media fodder, but in order to move forward, we do need to hear from the victim.”
