Police: Woman slapped neighbor’s 6-year-old son over bicycle dispute
A Vermont woman faces charges after police say she slapped a child in the face.

Kelly Ann Heavner was charged with simple assault for allegedly slapping a child.
Melissa Richmond, the child’s mother, called 911 Saturday to report that her 6-year-old son was assaulted by a neighbor, according to Vermont State Police.
Kelly Ann Heavner, 26, was arrested and charged with simple assault after police say she slapped the boy in the face over an argument about a bicycle.
Heavner was released with a criminal citation and told she could not go within 50 feet of the child or his home.
Heavner is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court on Aug. 2.
