Officials: Moose hit and killed by car in Weston appears to be one spotted in Belmont
A young female moose that was hit by a car in Weston and had to be euthanized Tuesday evening appears to be the same moose spotted earlier this month in Belmont and Watertown, officials said Wednesday.

Environmental police responded to the crash, which occurred around 8:30 p.m., and euthanized the moose, police spokeswoman Katie Gronendyke said. Weston police and the Department of Transportation also assisted at the scene.
There were no other injuries from the crash on River road, according a Facebook post by the Weston Fire Department.

The juvenile female moose was seen several times running through the streets of Belmont and Watertown in early June.
