Police seize over 2,100 bags of heroin, arrest 8 in Springfield
Springfield police seized 2,152 bags of heroin and arrested eight people while executing a search warrant on Tuesday evening, according to a department statement. Police also seized $4,344 at the scene.
Police said the raid was the result of a long investigation into heroin trafficking from a residence on Lebanon Street. While serving the warrant at the residence, three detectives were assaulted by a person brandishing a knife, according to police.
All of those arrested were arraigned Wednesday in Springfield District Court, according to a spokesman for the Hampdem County Distict Attorney’s office.
