Police: 10-month-old baby’s bathtub drowning a ‘tragic accident’

A 10-month-old baby girl drowned in a bathtub in South Boston Tuesday night, according to Boston police.

Police responded to the incident on Logan Way at 10 p.m. after receiving a call about a drowning, said Officer Rachel McGuire.

The child was taken to Boston Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, McGuire said.

Police are investigating the circumstances around the death.

“Our investigation so far leads us to believe it was a tragic accident,’’ said McGuire.
