Vendors at the Boston Flower Exchange have to move from their South End digs by the end of 2016, reports The Boston Globe.

The exchange’s 13 vendors, who sell flowers to retail stores, are being forced to move from the 5.6-acre site so that a new owner can move in, according to the Globe.

Joe Cefalo, the attorney handling the deal, would not name the site’s buyer to the Globe, saying only, “It’s a complex situation, more complex than a regular straight real estate deal. I’m hoping it’ll wrap up in the next couple of months.’’

The vendors hope to relocate, Gerry Cupp, a longtime vendor in the exchange, told the Globe.
