Video: Three People ‘Train Surf’ on the T, One Arrested
Three people were caught on surveillance footage grabbing the roof of an Orange Line subway car and briefly riding alongside it Monday night at Back Bay Station.
Transit police said one of those men, Jonathan Lopez, 18, of Jamaica Plain, was arrested and charged with “riding upon a train other than [as] a fare paying passenger — train surfing’’ and disorderly conduct.

MBTA Transit Police Lt. Richard Sullivan said the department believes they’ve identified the other two individuals seen surfing in the video, and they will also face charges.
A statement posted on the department’s blog called train surfing “extremely dangerous’’ and potentially “deadly,’’ and they aren’t lying: One man was seriously burned by electricity while riding a commuter train in Connecticut last year.
Readers may remember another teen who was videotaped barely avoiding an overpass while surfing on an Orange Line train last September.
“Transit Police will not tolerate such conduct and will identify, locate and arrest anyone performing such deadly criminal stunts,’’ the department’s statement read.
