Gov. Chris Christie: Leave Tom Brady Alone
Known as a — slightly effusive? — Cowboys fan, Chris Christie had a perhaps surprising message for Tom Brady’s detractors while in New Hampshire on Thursday: chill.

“I think there’s a little bit too much attention on this,’’ the New Jersey governor told an Independent Journal Review reporter. “I don’t think anyone is really trying to say that Tom Brady won four Super Bowls, or became a future hall-of-famer, because the balls were a little under-inflated.
“I think the media and others love — for somebody who is married to a beautiful model, who is richer than you can imagine, and who is a future hall-of-famer — to take a couple shots at him. People that like every once in a while. I think it’s way, way, way overblown.’’
The comments echo ones he made to a group of reporters that morning in Manchester, New Hampshire.
“You know, I think it’s really interesting,’’ he said. “People in public life wind up becoming targets for various reasons. So here’s Tom Brady — great looking guy, wealthy beyond imagination, married to Gisele Bundchen, and four Super Bowls. There are some people that just want to take a shot at Tom Brady because it seems like Tom Brady’s life is just almost too perfect.’’
Christie has not announced plans to run for president, though he has been visiting New Hampshire. Whether he’ll still have nice things to say about Tom Brady when the primary is over remains to be seen.
