Gate E4 at Logan International Airport hosted some early St. Patrick’s Day festivities Monday night as the Dropkick Murphys played a surprise show in the terminal.

Fans sang and clapped along to favorites such as “The Boys Are Back’’, “Rose Tattoo’’, “Tessie’’, “Dirty Glass’’, “Fields of Athenry’’, and “Jimmy Collins Wake’’.

The lyrics of the popular hit “Shipping Up To Boston’’ were changed to “Shipping Up To Dublin’’, kicking off their Celtic Punk Invasion Tour in Ireland and the UK.

The Murphys took off from Logan, heading to Dublin for a St Patrick’s Day performance. The Quincy band was still energetic, even after playing hours before at the House of Blues during a 4-day stay.
