Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Tractor-Trailer Near Liberty Hotel
A 68-year-old Boston woman was crossing Cambridge Street, near Charles Circle, in Boston early Wednesday afternoon when she was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Witnesses told police the woman was crossing the street, against the light, toward the Liberty Hotel when she was hit.
She was transported to nearby Mass General Hospital where she died from her injuries, authorities said.
The truck’s driver, a 38-year-old Saugus man, showed no signs of impairment, according to authorities.
No charges were filed against the driver Wednesday, though the investigation remains open.
