Everett man faces charges related to alleged dog poisoning in Charlestown

An Everett man was arrested Friday, accused of lacing hot dogs with antifreeze and leaving them on a lawn in Charlestown as poison for dogs, the Boston Police Department said. Kenneth Hyland, 53, will face charges related to the incident Monday in Charlestown District Court, police said. On Tuesday, witnesses told officers they saw Hyland soak the hot dogs in a 5-gallon bucket they believed was filled with antifreeze while he mowed a lawn on Medford Street. Police said the witnesses told them Hyland then spread pieces of the hot dogs on the lawn.
