Kittery teen faces drug charges after students become ill

A Maine man was charged with marijuana trafficking after two students who allegedly bought the drug from him became ill, police said. Matthew Dayton, 19, of Kittery was charged Tuesday night after officers with a search warrant found marijuana, scales, and other items at his home, police said. The Portsmouth Herald said two Kittery public school students suffered seizures late last week after smoking marijuana. Police Chief Theodor Short told the newspaper that one of the students remains hospitalized. He said the seized marijuana is being tested to determine whether it is tainted with another chemical.
