A 34-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly fired an air rifle at tree workers in Marstons Mills, police said.

Local News:

Officers responded to Tanbark Road on Tuesday for reports of a bullet hole in a home’s window, according to a statement shared on the Barnstable Police Department Facebook page. About 30 minutes after they cleared the scene, they received another call that there was now a person shooting “what appeared to be a rifle” at tree workers on the street.

The man, who retreated into his home once police arrived, has been identified as Kyle Stacey, 34, of Marstons Mills.

“Stacey refused to comply with multiple requests to exit the residence, however he eventually did so and was taken into custody,” police said in the statement.

Barnstable police officers and detectives executed a search warrant for the house, where they found .30 caliber projectiles, firearm cleaning tools, and several airguns, including the one he allegedly used to shoot the workers, a Vulcan 3 .30 caliber airgun with an attached scope. Airguns, which include common BB guns, use compressed air to shoot projectiles. The Vulcan 3 .30 fires both .25 and .30 caliber lead projectiles at a velocity of up to 1,000 feet per second using compressed air, police said.
