Seven injured in early-morning Theater District stabbing
Seven people were stabbed on Tremont Street in the Theater District shortly after bars closed early Sunday morning, according to Boston police.
Officials say the stabbing involved knives and bottles and was reported shortly after 2 a.m.
The Boston Globe reports the suspect, who police say survived “some wounds” in the stabbing, fled the scene on Charles Street South. As of 11:30 a.m., police said no arrests had been made and no information about the suspect was publicly available.
Three victims were transported from the scene and four others walked into local hospitals for medical attention, according to a police spokesman.
Boston Police Superintendent Bernard O’Rourke told the Globe at the scene around 3:30 a.m. that one of the victims was in surgery in critical condition. Later Sunday morning, a police spokesman told Boston.com that none of the injuries were considered to be life-threatening.
According to a Facebook post by Emerson College, authorities believe those involved to be “club goers.” According to the nearby college, no Emerson community members were involved in the incident. Police say all seven of those injured are adults.
Emerson had sent alerts to students of “two at-large suspects” around 3:11 a.m., according to the Globe.
