Teen’s ex-boyfriend charged with home invasion
A man was charged with home invasion after smashing the window of a teenage girl’s bedroom and climbing inside on Sunday, authorities say.
The 21 year-old suspect, who is the ex-boyfriend of the 17 year-old victim, entered her apartment just after 9 a.m., according to the Worcester Police Department. When another resident confronted the suspect, he fled the home, police say.
Officers say they found blood and glass in the area of the girl’s bedroom window and a large rock by the foot of the bed. Police tracked the suspect to an address in Worcester. He was arrested and brought to an area hospital for treatment for his injuries. He is charged with home invasion and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The teen received a small cut on her leg from the broken window, according to police. A witness told police that the suspect appeared to be injured from climbing through the window and was bleeding heavily.
Police have not named the man because of Massachusetts laws regarding domestic violence incidents.
