Chocolate Perfect Pairings at Taza in Somerville

Couples gathered at Taza Chocolate’s factory store this Thursday night to celebrate the second annual Perfect Pairings. Attendees enjoyed cocktails courtesy of Bully Boy Distillery, food from Casa B Restaurant, and plenty of chocolate in honor of Valentine’s Day.
Taza decorated the store with flowers and adornments. Couples browsed through an assortment of chocolates.

Couples were welcomed with samples of chocolate and a St. Elder’s classic welcome cocktail, made with St. Elder liqueur and Mionetto prosecco.

Bully Boy Distillery, based in Boston, provided the spirits and cocktails throughout the night.

Servers carried out platters of food provided by Casa B Restaurant, located in Union Square.

Couples mingled in between courses.

Chocolate samples were available throughout the store, including these chocolate covered golden berries.

Gian Carlo Buscaglia serenaded couples with his love songs.

Attendees enjoyed camarones rellenos de yucca—a yucca stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon with cilantro soy sauce—with a Sweet Touch cocktail, made with Bully Boy Boston rum, fresh lime juice, star anise, clove and cinnamon syrup, and Angostura bitters.

Casa B Restaurant prepared pasteilillos de setas, a goat cheese and mushroom puff with cilantro aioli.

The final course of the evening was bollos con jamón Serrano, a Serrano ham with guava sauce on white corn polenta toast.

Forever Yours, a cocktail made with Bully Boy white rum, Bully Boy white whiskey, cherry heering, fresh lime juice, scotch bonnet pepper syrup, and Taza chocolate extract, had quite the spicy kick.

Servers engaged with attendees and made sure everyone left happy.
