The Boston Globe

served up its annual Boston-area restaurant awards Monday, and Cambridge eateries once again earned major spots on the list.

For the third time in four years, the Restaurant of the Year is based in Cambridge: Pammy’s, a new American, Italian-inspired spot that’s located in between Harvard and Central Squares, took the top honor. Also for the third time in four years, the Chef of the Year is based in Cambridge, with Tracy Chang of Pagu in Central Square earning the award from Globe food critic Devra First.

Cambridge restaurants also took home more niche awards like “Best exploration of an underexplored regional cuisine” (given to French-Canadian restaurant Café du Pays), “Best passion project” (bestowed upon health-conscious izakaya Momi Nonmi) and “Miss Congeniality” (dished out to Roxy’s Central/A4cade, the bar/restaurant/arcade run by Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and Area Four in Central Square).

That’s not to say that plenty of non-Cantabrigians didn’t also cook up big things this year. First highlighted restaurants in the South End, South Boston, and Fenway neighborhoods, plus a Brookline restaurant specializing in wood-fired cuisine.
