A famous pastry shop in the North End takes the top spot.
With the weather warming up, Bostonians are flocking to some of their favorite ice cream shops, both in the city and out in the suburbs. And if the comment section on our Facebook page is any indication, our readers are very passionate about their scoop shop of choice.
Outside of frozen treats, there are plenty of Boston dessert shops that are great for any season, from the pastry shops of the North End to the Back Bay bakeries. But which dessert places are the most popular?
Thanks to data from check-in app Swarm, we were able to see which Boston dessert shops people checked into the most from Wednesday, June 1 to Tuesday, June 7.
For those unfamiliar, Swarm is an app from Foursquare that lets users check in when they visit locations like restaurants, bars, and parks. The newest version of the app now offers perks and prizes, like offering a discount at select stores when you check in there or a chance to win a $10,000 summer vacation package if you check into three summery locations.
