Barstool Sports founder and One Bite reviewer Dave Portnoy is back in Massachusetts rating pizza, this time at the Eagle Brook Saloon in Norfolk.

Known for its bar pizza and blueberry beer, the bar near Foxborough — a favorite bar of Boston.com readers — got a visit from the controversial media personality recently, with a One Bite review posted on Youtube on Wednesday night.

“I just love bar pie. You need it light, not too greasy. This looks good, and I don’t know how to score it. I almost need different scoring systems,” Portnoy said before taking a bite out of the cheese pizza.

He referred to Massachusetts, his home state, as the bar pie capital of the world, which is true. It likely originated out of a restaurant called Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton, and how you can tell a bar pizza apart from other styles is usually its thin crust, with cheese that stretches all the way to the edges of the pie. Apt to its name, bar pizza is usually served in a tavern and cooked in a 10-inch pan.

Portnoy gave Eagle Brook Saloon a 7.9 out of 10 after taking more than one bite of pizza. The general manager of the restaurant could be seen in the video thanking Portnoy for the score.

The 7.9 rating is considered to be a mark of quality pizza, according to One Bite’s somewhat murky rating system. Portnoy’s favorite pizzas typically garner scores around an 8 or a 9.
