Talib Kweli to Headline Boston Urban Music Festival
The Boston Urban Music Festival (BUMF), hosted by the Mayor’s Office of Arts + Culture, will take over City Hall Plaza Aug. 24 with rapper Talib Kweli headlining the ticket.
The fifth edition of the BUMF will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will also feature performances by Clinton Sparks, Berklee’s J Dilla Ensemble, Berklee alum Shea Rose, and local hip-hop artist, Dutch ReBelle. The pre-show will kick off at 2 p.m.
A second stage will be headlined by dance crew The Floorlords, and will feature up-and-coming local artists. The event is free and open to all ages.
Kweli, well-known for his early 2000s track “Get By’’ and collaborative work with producer Hi-Tek, will also headline the LEAF festival in Swannanoa, N.C. in October.
