Kings of Leon Drummer Hurt in Bus Incident After Mansfield Show

Saturday night’s Kings of Leon show in Mansfield ended on a low note after a pedestrian stepped in front of the band’s moving tour bus, causing the bus to stop short and in effect, injure drummer Nathan Followill.

The “Use Somebody’’ band was traveling from the Xfinity Center to its hotel when the incident occured. Kings of Leon canceled its Aug. 10 Saratoga Springs show due to Followill’s injuries.

Followill, 35, suffered broken ribs and was treated in a hospital following the incident. He posted a tweet assuring fans that although he was “a little banged up,’’ that he will “be back better than ever.’’

Followill’s brother, Jared Followill (the band’s bassist), posted a tweet Sunday morning with the hashtag #GetWellNate.

Today, Nathan posted a pair of tweets, the first of which was to combat rumors that he had died (below) with a photo from a hospital bed.

Kings of Leon is made up of four relatives: brothers Nathan, Caleb, and Jared Followill, and their cousin, Matthew Followill. The band is scheduled to perform on “The Tonight Show’’ with Jimmy Fallon on Aug. 12 before heading to its next “Mechanical Bull’’ tour stop in Wantagh, N.Y. on Aug. 13.
